Happy (Very Belated) Birthdays!

So unfortunately I have missed several October birthdays on this blog. Please, please do not take it as we were not thinking about you guys! We wish that we could have celebrated with each and every one of you in person!

"Happy (belated thanks to my Mom) Birthday to BB, Aunt Laura, Uncle Tommy, and Aunt Mary Catherine! We love you all!"

Fun in St. Simons, Georgia - Part 1

So the weekend after our vacation with the Bradley family we were lucky enough to spend a long weekend in St. Simons, Georgia with some great friends. We went to the beach, ate at a couple of cute restaurants, went on walks, ate snowballs, shopped, played lots on the front porch, and just enjoyed the time together. It was an extremely fun weekend filled with lots of beach time and great company!

It had been a year since Henry had been to the beach and at that time he was not walking nor really paid much attention to his surroundings. What a difference a year makes! Here Trey is re-introducing Henry to the water and the sand.

I was nervous that Henry would not like the sand or would be overwhelmed with the waves but this kid loved it all!

The dads and their boys...

Are we lucky or what?! ;-)

Here are Trey, Henry, Nolan, and Grant working on building a moat in the sand. At this point, I think Josie and I must have been relaxing with cold drinks in hand! ;-)

Henry enjoying the fruits of their labor...

My precious little fish...

Here is another precious little fish, Nolan...

The boys were both beyond exhausted after a long, hard day of play at the beach. Look at the bags under Henry's eyes!

Fun in St. Simons, Georgia - Part 3

St. Simons is a really cute beach town. There were a lot of unique shops and restaurants in the town center which was within walking distance to where we stayed.

Trey, Henry, Nolan, and Grant walking to dinner....

On a side note, the dinner out on the first night was not a success. The boys were completely wired and egging each other on. We ate in shifts and quickly decided to eat dinner in the rest of the weekend. ;-)

Henry taking advantage of a beautiful park right on the water...

Up and down, up and down, up and down...

One very happy, relaxed couple with one very exhausted child...

The second day at the beach was even more fun than the first! The tide was going out and there a huge sand bar that we played on for most of the day. It was really nice because we could all wade in the shallow water without having to worry about the waves.

Henry was not fearful of the water in the least and kept trying to get Trey to let him go out further and further. He thought it was hilarious when the waves would crash into him! His favorite was to run and then plop himself down in the water. It is so much fun to share all of these new experiences with Henry. I hope that he is always this fun-loving!

Fun times!

"Can you believe that we get to spend all weekend together?!"

"Can you believe that our moms made us wear these ridiculous hats?!" :-)

Several times throughout the weekend people asked us if they were twins or related. Nope, just bestest friends. ;-)

I hope we don't ever forget moments like this...

"Do we really HAVE to go back home?!"

The trip back home was very quiet for Mommy. ;-)

Josie, Grant, and Nolan, thanks for sharing such a wonderful weekend with us! We look forward to many, many more together!

It's not just me!

Henry loves Chick-Fil-A just as much as his Mommy! Look how excited he is over a chicken nugget! :-)

Bradley Family Vacation in the Mountains - Part 1

So a month (who am I kidding - two months!) ago, Trey, Henry, and I joined Trey's family at their cabin in the mountains for a Bradley family vacation! It was wonderful to be able to get lots of quality time with Trey's family. Henry got pretty sick with a virus at the end of the week but it did not prevent us from enjoying our time all together!

There was lots of time for coffee-drinking on the front porch,

eating absolutely delicious meals,

spending lots of time pouring gravel into and out of buckets,

lifting weights,

and reading some good books. :-)

Bradley Family Vacation in the Mountains - Part 2

Henry got his first taste of a tricycle during our visit. He cannot move the pedals himself although there is much excitement when he accidentally makes it move without help from us! :-)

Here is Henry and his best bud Bugsy...Henry loved having Bugsy to play with and Bugsy loved having Henry's crumbs to eat up! :-)

Bradley Family Vacation in the Mountains - Part 3

Trey and I absolutely love the mountains. The fresh air, peace and quiet, stars at night, roaring wood-burning fires to escape the cold....all of it. Henry loves the sticks and the dirt and the bugs and the leaves. ;-)

It was perfect to be able to just walk around and enjoy our beautiful surroundings.

Henry using a walking stick just like Granddaddy....

I guess the fresh air was too much for Henry! :-)

Bradley Family Vacation in the Mountains - Part 4

One day Trey's parents, Trey, Henry, and I decided to make a visit to the Chattanooga Aquarium. This was Henry's first trip to an aquarium and we all had a blast!

Trey, Henry, and BB taking a break...

Trey and Henry "petting" the sting rays...

(I still cannot believe that Trey got me to swim with those on our honeymoon!)

Trey letting Henry very cautiously "touch" the butterfly...

Henry and Trey "swimming" among the fish....

The aquarium was absolutely beautiful and had lots of interactive exhibits which Henry loved.

Funny Henry story...There was an exhibit where you could lean down and touch sturgeon swimming in the fish tank. There was a step-up that children could stand on to lean down. Henry was standing on the step-up and a little girl about his age came and stood next to him. I think Henry was trying to show off so he leaned down and got a handful of the fish water and drank it! He didn't just do it once but multiple times! That little girl gave him a look of complete disgust and stepped down! Henry's mom was completely disgusted as well! :-) Oh sweet Henry! We have a lot to teach you about girls! ;-)

Because Henry got sick at the end of the week we said he caught the sturgeon flu! Hahaha!

Bradley Family Vacation in the Mountains - Part 5

That week Trey's parents surprised us with a magnificent night away! We were treated to dinner and a room at the historic Hermitage Hotel in downtown Nashville. That was a far cry from our usual of Chick-Fil-A and the Hampton Inn. ;-) To say this was a treat would be a huge understatement!

One blissfully happy couple...

Mom and Dad, we cannot tell you how much we appreciate not only the night away but also the wonderful week! This was a special week for us filled with lots of memories!

We are still here!

I promise we are still here! We just got back from another fabulous trip. We are all pretty exhausted since we have been gone six out of the past seven weekends which included two week-long trips. We have had fun, fun, fun but I allowed myself a break from blogging to do a lot of this....

...lots of lazy days hanging out with my cuddly little boy. :-)

Lots and lots and lots of great pictures to follow! I promise!
