Easter Egg Hunt

Our friends Jen, Chris, Thomas, and Elizabeth hosted an Easter egg hunt at their beautiful home the Saturday before Easter. I don't know how she did it but Jen was a week from her due date! Amazing! Trey was working so Henry, Charlotte, and I went to hunt some eggs!

Headed out on the hunt...

Don't they look like little chicks walking in a row?! ;-)

Henry was all business taking off running...

Jen and Chris, thank you for hosting us for such a wonderful day! Henry, Charlotte and I had so much fun!

Charlotte is 4 months old!

Our beautiful baby girl had her 4-month appointment last Tuesday. We felt so lucky that Trey was able to come with us because he was on vacation last week.

Here are her 4-month stats -

Head circumference - 41 centimeters (78th percentile)
Length - 25 1/2 inches (above the 97th percentile)
Weight - 15 pounds, 6 ounces (93rd percentile)

She is a wonderfully happy baby. She smiles so easily but my favorite is when she laughs out loud.

After being in the bassinet rocker for 4 months we finally moved her into her crib. I was extremely nervous that I was going to have to listen to her cry it out all night but it didn't phase her at all. She still slept her 8 hours, ate, and then went back to sleep for another 3 hours!

She is still a cat napper (15-20 minute naps) during the day but if you are holding her she will sleep for hours.

She loves being carried in the Baby Bjorn although she wants to be facing out so that she can see everything that is going on. She loves to sit and watch Henry playing. She is holding and grabbing onto toys and Henry thinks it is hilarious if she grabs onto his shirt or a toy that he hands to her.

She loves being outside and will fall asleep in her stroller almost every time she is in it.

She has beautiful blue eyes and long eyelashes. She is already getting a tooth. It hasn't broken through yet but the pediatrician said that it is definitely there. She is obsessed with chewing on her hands and she gets really frustrated when they won't stay in her mouth. She loves playing with her feet and tries unsuccessfully a hundred times a day to get them in her mouth.

She has an unusual hairline much like her brother did at this age. Sorry Charlotte! :-)

She is still a great eater and exclusively breastfed. Unfortunately for Mommy, she isn't great with a bottle although that is something we are working on. She is in size 2 diapers during the day and size 3 at night. She is in 3-6 month clothing but most of it is getting pretty snug and because of her length, hard to snap at the bottom.

Unfortunately she isn't the greatest in her car seat. She will sleep for a while but once she gets hot (which is almost immediate in South Carolina) she wants out and she will let you know it.

These past 4 months have been challenging, tiring, and full of growing pains but they have also been full of joy, laughter, and immense love and we would not trade them for anything. We are so in love with our precious, wonderful Charlotte and cannot imagine life without her.

Happy 4 months Baby Girl! We love you and cannot wait to see what the next 4, 40, 400 months bring! :-)

Safety First!

Safety goggles are a MUST whenever you are using power tools! This is serious stuff! ;-)

Henry's Spring Program

One morning a couple of weeks ago Charlotte and I went to Henry's Spring program at his preschool. Just like his Daddy, Henry does not like or want to be the center of attention and absolutely does not want to be singing or dancing in front of anyone. So pretty much this was the last thing Henry would want to be doing!

The two-year olds were pretty hilarious. They all pretty much stood with a deer-in-headlights look watching the teachers on the floor doing all of the singing and hand motions. To make matters worse one little boy got completely distracted with the balloon bouquets in the background which made the other little boys, including Henry, get distracted. By the end of the three songs, it was pretty much mass chaos which is exactly what you would expect when you get a bunch of two-year olds together! :-) The three-year old and four-year old classes did much better performing but they were all really cute and it was a lot of fun to see Henry and his friends!

Bumbo Time!

"You're actually making dinner?! Hahahaha!"

"You're making meatloaf? Okay, that is so not funny. I think I will skip this meal." ;-)

"Enough with the chit-chat. Sleepy time!"

So messy but still so very handsome!

Party like it's...

...actually February 29th! :-) We celebrated our big three-year old with three different parties!

The first party was with Henry's BB and Aunt Mary Catherine who were in town the weekend before his birthday.

"Does that mean since I am three that I get three pieces of cake?!"

The second party was on March 1st since February 29, 2011 doesn't exist. :-) We were really glad that my Memére was here to help us celebrate!

Is this kid spoiled or what?!

Charlotte even got in the party spirit with her cupcake shirt!

Henry was thrilled with his Buzz Lightyear candles!

"I wish for a Lightning McQueen big boy bike!"

"My wish came true!!"

The third celebration was a Toy Story party playdate with all of our friends! It occurred a month after his actual birthday because Charlotte was a little older and stronger and honestly that was the first chance that this mother of two could actually think about having people over to our house! ;-)

Concentrating really hard on not digging into that cupcake immediately...

One LOVED, LOVED, LOVED three-year old...

Happy Birthday Big Boy! Hope we made you feel as special as you really are! We love you!
