Full of Surprises!

This morning, Henry pulled himself up from sitting to standing! I was sitting right next to him reading the newspaper and I watched as he slowly figured out he could do it and he did! He pulled up on an Elmo toy that is meant for a baby to sit in front of. Of course that wasn't good enough for Henry! Our son is always full of surprises!

Big Trey and Little Trey :-)

Henry's First Food Experience...YUM!

While in Michigan we introduced baby food to Henry. We started with peas first.

Open wide Henry!

So dramatic...there was lots of gagging and yucky faces!

This face pretty much sums up the experience. :-)

When we got home we tried carrots.

We have since tried squash, sweet potatoes, and green beans. You would think Henry would love food seeing as "healthy" as he is but he is so very disinterested. The only thing he is interested in is chewing on the spoon! He has gotten a lot better with actually swallowing the food although he tends to sneeze or cough or blow raspberries as soon as he gets a mouthful of food. I have had to change my clothes before! We are planning to introduce fruit soon so we will keep you updated!

Our Fabulously Relaxing Vacation in Michigan

We spent a week in Michigan with Trey's family and some very fun family friends and we had such a wonderful time. We ate, we fished, we took walks, we ate some more, we played games, we sat and stared at the lake, and we just relaxed, relaxed, relaxed. It was wonderful to be able to spend the time all together. Thank you so much to all who made this vacation possible!

Henry loved all of the attention showered on him! He thought he was star of the show all week!

Henry was, of course, adorable and entertained everyone the whole time! He even slept in most mornings!

Michigan - We love the fresh air!

The weather could not have been more perfect to enjoy being outside. Most days, the high was in the 70's with a clear blue sky!

We were so lucky to have so much time to spend together!

Henry's First Airline Trip

A couple of weeks ago, Trey, Henry, and I flew to Michigan from Columbia for his family's vacation. It was a 2-hour direct flight but Trey and I were really nervous about how Henry would do. We used to be one of those people who would see a child in the airport and hope they weren't on our flight! We are the people with the child now!! I don't know why we were worried...Henry was perfect! On the flight there, he fell asleep as soon as we got on the plane and slept for a good while. He woke up and ate and then played and smiled with the really nice people sitting around us. On the flight home, he slept the whole entire flight! I told Trey that I thought we were probably overconfident for future flights now!

You have a LOT of luggage Henry!

Hanging out waiting to board...

We have ourselves a tooth!

Well, not so much we...Henry has himself a tooth. It is on the bottom and I think it is his left front tooth although he is less than cooperative when I try to take a look! Poor little guy had a rough day yesterday...lots of fussiness and attachment to me. I will post a picture as soon as Henry allows me to take one! :-)

Henry is unavailable. :-)

Henry Blaine - The Six-Month Old

He loves peek-a-boo, especially when you say "Pop goes the weasel". He is up on his hands and knees rocking back and forth. He is not interested at all in baby food (Trey says he doesn't blame him!). He stands up on his own when he is holding onto something. He smiles and laughs when you make a big deal about him doing anything. He loves when you sing to him...his favorite is "Take Me Out To The Ball Game". He absolutely adores his Daddy. He chews on absolutely anything he can get his hands on (including my flip flop when I wasn't paying attention). He has to play with his mobile any time you take him out of his crib. He loves to look at himself in the mirror. He loves watching other children and loves it even more when they play with him. He blows raspberries like a champion. He loves his bathtime but especially when Daddy is home to bathe him. He puts his pacifier in himself, sometimes upside down. He turns around in his stroller every once in a while just to make sure I am still there....I always will be.

Your Daddy and I love you so very much Little Man!

We LOVE our playdates!

Henry and I are so very lucky to have such wonderful friends here in Columbia! And also very lucky that we are able to get together so often!

We lined our kids (Nolan, Abigail, and Henry) up so that we could eat lunch. Baby boy Massey not pictured. ;-)

Sorry for the delay...

We just got home from a wonderful vacation in Michigan with Trey's family. Things have been hectic since we got back and now we are having trouble uploading pictures. I have LOTS of pictures to post (like Henry's first airplane trip and feeding him baby food for the first time) and I hope to upload them very soon!

I will leave you with this picture of our happy family.
