A Big Fan of Corn on the Cob

"Ooooooh! Corn on the cob!"

"Yum! Yum!"

He was trying to point out his belly button to us but the corn got in the way! :-)

"Yeah! More corn on the cob please!"

Quite the Vacation!

A couple of weeks ago Trey had a few days off of work. YEAH! We LOVE to travel and would have normally taken this opportunity to go out of town. But we decided to save some money, stay at home, and finish up some unfinished projects around the house. Boy, did we make the wrong decision!

We were working in the side garden and proceeded to bust the main water pipe. The fix only cost us a mere $400! I think the plumber was laughing to himself while I was hyperventilating in the front yard. :-) It turns out that the pipe was not buried to code which requires it to be buried 12 inches down. Ours was only buried 3 inches. Fabulous!

"I told you that you should have taken me to Disneyworld!"

Henry did not know why we were so upset. He thought it was great to have a mud pit to play in!

Clean-up time with the hose Henry!

Trey made me promise that we would never stay home again when he had vacation days! I agreed completely! :-)

Tackling Some Sewing Projects

I received a sewing machine as a gift a LONG time ago so I decided to pull it out recently. :-) It has been an equally long time since I have touched any sewing machine so I was really lucky that mine came with a DVD tutorial!

I forced Trey to sit and watch the DVD with me. He tested it out first and made a beautiful pillow! ;-)

My turn! Believe me, I became really good friends with the hem ripper! :-)

Sleep tight! Don't let the bed bugs bite! :-)

Happy Mother's Day 2009!

My two men certainly spoiled me on Mother's Day! They cooked me breakfast (waffles, my favorite) while I slept in and then leisurely read the newspaper. A girl could certainly get used to this!

"I picked out that funny card all by myself Mommy!"

After a delicious breakfast we spent the morning at the zoo!

After months of waiting, we finally got to meet the baby giraffe (pictured on the left)! Adorable!

Henry was unsure of the dinosaur statue at first but then he ran up to it and tried to give it a hug! That's my sweet boy!

My two wonderful men who always make me feel special regardless of what day it is. And no, I am not talking about the lion! Hahaha! :-)

Here I am pictured with the sweet, handsome little boy that made me a Mommy!

I hope all of you Mommies out there were treated as special as I was on Mother's Day! I certainly am the luckiest!

Some Big Shoes To Fill ;-)

"Daddy, Mommy says that she is sorry she cut you out of the picture. Between you and me, she some times has some difficulty with modern technology like the camera!" :-)

What a great "helper"!

Henry "helping" Daddy put together some cornice boxes for our windows.

Daddy said that he would really let you mow the lawn once you master mowing in straight lines. :-)

He keeps us laughing! :-)

There is not a day that goes by that Henry doesn't do something hilarious! He fills our home with laughter and much happiness!

Henry likes to get into my bathroom drawers and pull everything out. This is what he does with my headbands....

And he will not wear his own sunglasses but he certainly loves to wear mine!

I turned around and Henry was wearing almost every piece from his medical kit. :-)

"What is so hilarious about me reading a book naked in a basket?!"

We love you Little Man!

Things are always better when shared with friends! :-)

"These Cheerios are the best!"

"Share with me Abigail!" :-)

A Summer Must-Have in Columbia, SC

We purchased a small pool for Henry for the scorching summer days in Columbia.

Time to go swimming Henry!

"Mom you are so silly! That pool has no water in it!" :-)

Happy Birthday Mom / Memere!

"Memere, I wanted to pick some flowers for you for your birthday but for some reason Mom wouldn't let me!"

"So I guess a smile for your birthday is just going to have to do! I hope you have a fabulous day! I love you and cannot wait to see you next week!"

Happy Birthday Mom!

A Boy And His Pool

"Now THIS is what I am talking about!"

Splash, splash, splash!

Henry with a case of the droopy diaper...

Can you tell Trey put the sunscreen on? He doesn't believe in blending. Ha ha! :-)

Nashville Visit - The Bradley Family

At the end of April Trey was traveling to Phoenix for a week to attend a conference. This was a big deal because he actually presented some research at this conference and had it published! We were so proud of him!

Henry and I decided to visit family in Nashville for the week while Trey was away. We were so lucky to be able to spend a day with Trey's Mom and Dad.

BB giving Henry a piano lesson...

"No lesson for me Mom! I am already a master of Chopsticks!" :-)

Henry and his Granddaddy...

"You mean I can play with this wagon? Awesome!"

Henry rocking away...

On a side note, Henry had a clothes change because he practically went swimming in the Bradley's fountain!

Nashville Visit - The Brandes Family

Pepere with Henry...

Memere with Henry...

Aunt Laura and Henry...

Aunt Laura not only got to visit with Henry and me but she also got to visit her stuff! :-) Sorry La, I couldn't resist! Thanks for taking the time off of work to spend with us! Love you!

Nashville Visit - Busy, Busy, Busy

Vacations with a one year-old are never what I would call relaxing. Henry is always so full of energy and does not want to waste time sitting at all!

"Why would I want to sit when I can take Memere and my stroller for a walk?!" :-)

No one can be eating anything without sharing it with Henry.

"Memere told me that I can have anything that I want Mom!"

Henry and I visited my mom's classroom and Henry was obsessed with this stuffed butterfly she has in her room. He ran out the door holding it! I had to chase him down to get it back! :-)

We were so lucky that Lori, Jack, and Will were in Nashville for the weekend so we got to hang out with them one day!
