I caved...

I always said that I would never buy light-up shoes for Henry. I don't know why they bother me so much. They are cute on other children and Henry thought they were great. And Trey wished they sold them in his size. ;-) It was just one of the many things that I told myself I would never buy for my child.

Well like with most of other things I said I would never do, I caved...

...and Henry absolutely loves his light-up Lightning McQueen tennis shoes! :-)

Strawberry Pickin' - Part 1

A friend of ours (Thanks Beth!) told us about a nearby strawberry farm that her family really enjoyed going to so Trey, Henry, and I decided to check it out for ourselves!

Henry and I armed with buckets ready to get pickin'...

"You really mean I can just pick as many strawberries as I want?!"

For whatever reason Henry gravitated towards the green strawberries or the incredibly rotten ones so Trey had to give Henry a tutorial on the best strawberries to pick. :-)

Strawberry Pickin' - Part 2

Henry started off doing a great job picking the strawberries and putting them in his bucket...

...and then he just started pulling them and stuffing them in his mouth! :-)

"Yummy in my tummy!"

Henry was extremely upset when our outing was over and Daddy took his bucket to go pay. By the looks of his shirt and his face I think they probably lost money on us! :-)

Another Members' Night at the Zoo

The focus of this members' night was the grand opening of the new kangaroo exhibit! Visitors can actually walk through the kangaroo habitat and see them up close and personal.

Mommy thought this was very cool. Henry on the other hand, was not so sure about the animals hopping around very close to his personal space! :-)

But Henry always thinks riding the carousel is cool!

And of course the ice cream is always awesome!

But the coolest part of Henry's evening was watching Daddy being swarmed by birds! And Mommy thought it was pretty hilarious to watch Daddy get pooped on by the bird on his head! :-)

Honestly though every evening I get to hang out with my two men is extremely cool in my book! ;-)

Welcome to the World Baby Kate!

Our beautiful niece, Kate Elizabeth arrived into the world at 904p on November 6th measuring 8 lbs, 6 oz and 21-3/4 inches long! She is perfectly healthy and extremely adorable! And my little sister absolutely amazed me with her strength and courage throughout that very long day and the days afterwards.

Beautiful Kate, you just don't know yet how lucky you are to have parents as wonderful as yours! :-)

And we feel just as lucky to finally have a sweet little girl to spoil in this family! All I have to say is she will learn to hold her own with all of these crazy boys around! :-)

Kate, we love you and your parents so very, very much! We cannot wait to meet you in person!

Livin' The Life

Henry and his bud Nolan just livin' the life...chilling out, sipping on a cool drink, waiting on Momma to pull them around in the wagon! ;-)

His Mother's Son

Henry really enjoys food. Just like his mother he has a sweet tooth but really loves anything salty...especially pickles! ;-)

"Mmmm! Good to the last drop!"

"When you hand me a chocolate cookie, do not expect things to remain neat and clean!"

Art at the Library

Henry and I met Josie and Nolan at the library one Friday morning for an art activity. The theme for the day's activity was abstract art which was great because Henry is an expert at abstract! :-)

A couple of pictures of the artist at work...

Thanks for the fun morning Henry, Josie, and Nolan!

Forgive me...

...for the less than stellar past couple of months of blog posting. It was not a coincidence that my blogging came to a complete halt when I got pregnant and Trey went back to clinicals. We have been busy but I am hoping now to slowly get caught up! Especially since I am pretty sure that once baby girl arrives blogging will again come to a standstill!

"I know all of my fans out there have missed this face but Mom just could not get her act together! I don't know why either since I practically take care of myself!" ;-)

Myrtle Beach Vacation Part 1

On Mothers' Day, Trey, Henry, and I left to spend a few days in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Surprisingly, this was the very first vacation that the three of us have taken without any other friends and family. We had an absolute blast being together. This will definitely become an annual tradition!

We spent the afternoon of Mothers' Day at Broadway at the Beach which is a huge area of Myrtle Beach with lots of shopping, restaurants, and entertainment, which of course would include...

...large dinosaurs to climb on,

a playground for little monkeys to climb on,

and a restaurant that has a clown that makes balloon animals (or in Henry's case, a sword)! :-)

I could not have asked for a more perfect way to spend Mothers' Day...with my two favorite men!

Myrtle Beach Vacation Part 2

It is really so much fun to share these experiences with Henry because everything to him is exciting and awesome!

All Henry could say after his feet hit the sand was "Oh my!"

Letting the ocean water touch his feet...

"What do you think Henry?!"

I think he likes it! :-)

So very relaxed and happy...

These two enjoy every single minute together! :-)

Myrtle Beach Vacation Part 3

We spent most of our time on vacation at the beach which was just fine with Henry!

Trey and Henry working on a sandcastle...

I left most of the sandcastle-building to Trey and Henry but I did get out of my beach chair long enough for a picture. :-)

Taking turns burying each other's feet...

Our little beach bum...

Henry taking a breather from all of his hard "work"...

Myrtle Beach Vacation Part 4

So our condo had a great pool with a lazy river and a huge, separate section just for the kids. But Henry did not want anything to do with any of that. He only wanted to be at the beach.

This was the one and only time we got silly Henry in the pool...

Myrtle Beach Vacation Part 5

For the most part the weather was absolutely beautiful but one day was a little cold and windy so we decided to visit the Nascar park. (My Northern friends and family can stop laughing now! This is serious stuff down here! Hahaha!)

Trey and Henry posing in front of the race cars...

Henry and Trey demonstrating how motorcyclists drive in South Carolina - no helmets!

"This one is for you Uncle Tommy! Daddy was very impressed with my aim but between you and me I don't think Mommy was too happy!" :-)

Anyone who knows me knows that I plan my days around meals. There was no shortage of yummy food in Myrtle Beach either!

"Let's get crackin'!"

No vacation is complete without at least one stop-off at Krispy Kreme!

Thanks boys for such a wonderful, fun, laughter-filled, relaxing few days. I look forward to many, many more getaways together! I love you both!

Introducing...

Trey, Henry, and I would like to introduce you to our baby GIRL who is now 24 weeks old!

She is a kicker like her brother was and holds playtime every evening around 10 p.m. She loves salty foods and actually convinced her Mommy to eat a whole jar of olives in one sitting!

Her big brother loves to talk to his sister by yelling at Mommy's stomach. He also loves to sing her his favorite song right now - Power Tools by Handy Manny. He will randomly lay his head down on Mommy's stomach like he is giving her a hug.

Sweet girl, you are loved more than you could ever imagine and your Mommy, Daddy, and Big Brother look forward to the day when we can finally meet you! :-)

We miss him!

After an amazing research year filled with lots of wonderful trips, meals together, and precious family time, Trey started on his 5th clinical year on June 16th. He has 22 months left of residency (as Trey puts it) and we are looking forward to when the time left can be counted in days and not months.

Putting the extreme stress and exhaustion aside, he loves his job and is passionate about helping others. And because we love him and are so very proud of all of his incredible work, we are right there with him through each step of this journey to see his life long dream fulfilled...but we miss him.

Henry's t-shirt puts it best, "My Dad is hands down #1!"

And Baby Makes Four...

Trey, Henry, and I are extremely happy to announce that we are expecting a new addition to our family on Valentine's Day 2011!

Trey and I found out while in Hawaii. I got sick one day and made him drive me around the island to find a pregnancy test. I am pretty sure he was glad that he complied. :-)

We have had two ultrasounds performed and the baby looks beautiful and much more importantly, healthy! The OB in the second ultrasound wrote his guess on the gender down on a prescription pad and sealed it in an envelope because Trey was not with me. Trey had the same guess just looking at the ultrasound pictures before we opened the envelope together. Boy or Girl?! Sorry but we are not sharing until we know more definitively at the 20-week ultrasound! :-)

Beautiful baby Bradley waving at Daddy...

No matter boy or girl we are absolutely over the moon! Honestly, how could we not want more of him?!

"Happy Birthday Cousin Will!" :-)

"It's your birthday! You can do whatever you want! Eat cake for breakfast, stay up late, and even...

...ride a pink four-wheeler! No one can say anything to the Birthday Boy!" :-)

We are looking forward to celebrating your 2nd birthday with you in person! We love you!
