Henry's First Spring Break

So Henry and I just got back from a wonderful last-minute trip to Kentucky to see my brother, sister-in-law, nephews, and my parents. It is never to early to introduce Henry to Spring Break! :-)

"Daddy, you know I really don't like orange, right? Mom forced me to sit in the chair!" :-)

Lots of pictures to follow...

Spring Break 2009 :-)

Henry and I are headed off on our own last-minute Spring Break trip. We will be back in a few days and will have LOTS of pictures to post!

"Daddy, we love you so very much! We cannot wait to hang out with you all next weekend! Don't work too hard!"

Happy St. Patrick's Day! (Better Late Than Never!)

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day by taking Henry to his first ever parade! Believe me when I tell you it wasn't exactly Mardi Gras! No floats or marching bands - can they even call that a parade?! :-) Trey was post call so we didn't think he was going to make it but he surprised us and it was a fabulous surprise!

Mom and Henry enjoying the parade...

Daddy giving a parade play-by-play to Henry...

We do not always have a lot of time together but when we do we love every minute of it!

Our little monkey LOVES the zoo!

A couple of weeks ago Henry and I decided at the last minute to go to the zoo. Henry loves the zoo and I love getting out of the house to enjoy the beautiful weather and wearing Henry out! :-) Because it was not crowded I was able to let Henry run around on his own. It seemed like Henry was experiencing the zoo for the first time all over again! We both had the best time!

"Good morning Elephants!"

"THAT is where my milk comes from?!"

"I don't know which I love more....the flamingos or my Cheerios!"

"It is tradition that Mom and I ride the carousel before we leave the zoo. So much fun!"

"Bye bye ducks! We will be back very soon!"

What the heck is going on with your hair Henry?!

Batman!

We think Henry is sleeping through the night but he is actually out saving the world!

Of course Batman needs a cape!

"Off to save some lives!" :-)

Sidewalk Chalk Fun

Henry is happiest when we are outside so I am always trying to think of new outside activities to try. (If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!)

I decided to be brave and try sidewalk chalk with him. He really liked the chalk and it was a miracle that he only tried to put it in his mouth once. He, however, did not really understand not to lay on other people's artwork! ;-)

He was covered in chalk from head to toe. There is hardly a moment during the day when Henry is completely clean. Oh well! In my book, the most fun activities are the messiest!

"Okay Mom...great activity! What's next?!"

Food time is his favorite time!

Henry LOVES his meal time! He grabs onto his high chair whenever he is hungry and he will not let go until he knows you are going to feed him! :-)

We are starting to let Henry feed himself with a spoon and boy is it a mess! "Silly Mom! Making messes is what little boys do!"

"Okay, put the camera down and feed me some mashed potatoes!"

Tunnel Vision

A Boy After His Pepere's Own Heart

I guess if he cannot have a pretzel he will take the next best thing....chewing on the container!

"Pepere, I know I am going to love pretzels just like you! Now can you tell Mommy to give me one?"

Henry, The School Bus Driver

Henry loves "driving" his inflatable school bus! Actually, he really loves to chew the steering wheel! ;-)

The school bus is really a ball pit! How fun!

Stop the bus! Passenger overboard! ;-)

How big is Henry?

SO BIG!

He loves that new trick! :-)

"Celebrate Good Times!"

We were extremely lucky to have family here to celebrate our Little Man's first year! Our families live far away so we are always grateful for the time we do have together!

My Memere and I....

BB reading Henry a book...

Henry sharing some goldfish with his Memere...

Aunt Mary Catherine and Granddaddy hanging out with the Birthday Boy...

Henry, like Mommy and Daddy, are always sad when family leaves. Henry kept looking out the window hoping that they would come back.

"Hey! Where did everyone go?! You are really going to leave me here with these two crazy people?!"

Saying thank you is not enough to tell you how much we appreciate all that you did to make Henry's big day so special! We look forward to the next time we are together!

No More!

No more bottles! No more pumping!. No more formula! No more spending hours washing bottles every evening! We are moving on!

We weaned Henry off of bottles shortly after his first birthday. He was down to just a morning and evening bottle anyway. We weaned him off of his morning bottle first and then the evening. He pitched a fit for a day or two and then he realized that he was not going to get what he wanted so he got over it. It definitely was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I never realized that parenthood is mostly about sticking to your guns. Henry is definitely in for it! :-)

"We are sorry for the interruption!"

"We have been busy, busy, busy! Lots of play time and fun times with friends and family. Daddy was on call every other night for two weeks so needless to say Mommy was not much in the mood to post once I went to bed. I always thought they just went to bed after I did." ;-)

"Don't worry though. We are BACK!"
