Our Paint Project

So after three years in our house I finally convinced my wonderful husband that we needed to paint. He always thought the builder-beige looked fine and I never pushed it before because his time off was so precious. But he has given in now that he has more time and now that our sweet Henry has destroyed all of our clean, builder-beige painted walls! :-)

We could only paint after Henry went to bed so it took us three evenings to finish the living room. Why couldn't we do it when Henry was up? Well he likes to "help".

He went up...

...and up...

...and up to reach the high parts of the wall. And yes, he climbed the ladder himself!

We could just imagine little green paint handprints and footprints all over our furniture and carpet. So painting only occurs after our little helper goes to bed! ;-)

Henry's New Favorite Dip

He still loves hummus but he now really loves ketchup! It was an absolute mess the first time we gave Henry ketchup with his meal. It was absolutely everywhere....hands, face, hair, clothes, ears, nose. Trey and I should not have encouraged it but it truly was a hilarious scene! :-)

Friday Night Concert in the Park

One Friday night Trey, Henry, and I met some friends at a concert in a park.

Henry and Daddy taking in all of the sights and sounds...

After the concert we stopped at an ice cream shop for some yummy desserts. Henry loved his fruit smoothie!

Another fun evening as a family! :-)

Squeegee Time!

And yes, I do clean my shower doors but Henry would rather see them covered with slobber and handprints! :-)

"I didn't touch it Mamma!"

I walked into Henry's room one morning and I found Henry with his dismantled mobile. We had been talking about taking the mobile down so I guess Henry decided to save us some trouble by doing it himself!

Look how guilty he looks! :-)

I asked him to put it back like he found it and this is what he did...

You sure do keep us laughing Henry!

Pool Party!

The chairman of the surgery department and his wife hosted the residents and their families at a pool party to welcome the new residents. Henry absolutely loved playing with the other children in the baby pool but unfortunately there was lightning and they had to get out. Henry did not like that one bit and he sure communicated that to us! :-)

Henry was spoiled with an incredible bucket filled with all kinds of goodies including these sunglasses. Unfortunately, they were broken before we even left the party!

Weather sure did not stop Henry from playing with the pool toys!

This was the first time that we brought Henry to the annual pool party and it was definitely a different experience. One of us socialized while the other one was busy chasing after Henry. The children seemed to enjoy themselves just as much, if not more than the adults! :-)

Henry's 18-Month Check-Up

Henry had his 18-month check-up today and he passed with flying colors! We were so lucky that Trey was able to meet us although the pediatrician had to answer his very long list of questions. ;-) Henry was very well-behaved through the whole thing. Dr. K even commented on how well he behaved while he was examining him. I could not even believe myself how well he sat and let Dr. K poke and prod him! I guess the books about doctors and the play medical kit have payed off! Thank you Henry!

Here are his 18-month "stats"...

Head circumference - 47 1/2 cm. - 50th percentile
Height - 32 in. - 50th percentile
Weight - 25 lbs., 10 oz. - 50th percentile

"Don't let my Mamma fool you! She was the one with a million questions! And I don't know why either because I am such an easy child!" :-)

Just Like Dada

It isn't enough for Henry just to watch Trey shave. He has to cover his face with shaving cream too! :-)

A Fun Day Outside

Spending time playing with the hose in the pool...

Showing off his dunking skills (notice the huge, droopy diaper filled with water)...

Laughing at his funny Mamma...

Poking Mamma in the eye...

"I sure do love playing outside! Now where is my popscicle!" ;-)

Our "Big" Man

Our sweet boy now wants to sit at the table with us and not in his high chair. It is amazing the ways we see him growing before our very eyes!

Crazy Cat :-)

He likes to do flips, spin on chairs many, many, many times, and now...

stand on his head!

You are one crazy cat Henry!

Guilty As Charged

Henry, who smashed Mamma's candle all over the bathroom floor? The same candle I have asked a specific someone not to touch a million and one times.

"I don't know Mamma! Certainly not me! Maybe it was the dog. Oh wait! We don't have a dog. Well it still wasn't me!"

Look at this face. He is definitely guilty as charged! :-)

Oreo Goodness

Henry was introduced to the deliciousness of the ice cream oreo cookie.

Showing the camera a mouthful...

Did you notice we removed his shirt before we started eating this messy treat?!

"Mmmmm...the box is quite tasty as well!" :-)

A Lazy Saturday...

hanging out in our pajamas until noon and taking long naps. Those are my favorite! :-)

Our Fig-Eating Little Man

"Why are you making yucky faces Mama? Figs are scrumptious!"

Brew at the Zoo

Trey and I were so lucky to have a date night recently at an event called Brew at the Zoo, which is a beer-tasting that our Zoo hosts as a fundraiser.

We used a new babysitter (Thanks Jen!) since our old babysitter was going away to college. The new babysitter was wonderful and Henry took to her almost immediately.

Trey and I were so lucky to have such a fantastic date night out with some great friends! Does this couple look happy or what?!

Thanks Henry for cooperating for Mama and Dadda!

It's a lovely day for a living room picnic! ;-)

It is ALWAYS something around here!

So Henry started using his bumper pad to try and climb out of the crib. This was a BIG problem so we had to just remove the bumper pad.

Henry showing off his climbing skills...

The only problem was that his many pacifiers were falling out of the crib in the middle of the night and Henry would wake up and scream. Trey and I had to get creative. We used the ribbon contraption that was keeping his cup from falling off of the high chair but is now keeping his pacifier from falling out of the crib. (Do these look familiar Mom?)

Henry demonstrating our creative contraption...

Like I always say, it is never a dull moment around here! :-)

Our Little Tiger Fan

I guess our little Tiger fan was the last to find out that Coach Cal left the Tigers to become a Wildcat. :-(

Henry...AKA "Alfalfa"

Henry woke up from a nap with a real hair issue.

"Mama, maybe I need to take a picture of YOU when YOU wake up!" :-)

He never gets tired of the swing! ;-)

Daddy's Gift to Henry

When I was away one weekend Henry and Trey went to Home Depot and bought Henry a little gift....a wheel for his swing set! He loves these at playgrounds and he equally loves the one Trey bought for him! :-)

"That Dadda of mine is pretty awesome, isn't he?!"

Taking A Popsicle Break

Henry had to stop and take a popsicle break after a hard morning of playing!

Gonzales cousins...do you guys remember how we used to eat hundreds of these over the course of a week at the Bay?! It brings back LOTS of memories! Time to pass the tradition on to the next generation! ;-)

Our Funny Guy :-)

So I was cutting coupons one day and there was a coupon that had some peanut butter pretzel sandwiches pictured.

Henry was desperately trying to get the pretzels off of that paper! He was so confused! He was even using his mouth to try and get a taste of those pretzel sandwiches! :-)

"You think I am funny? You haven't seen anything yet Mama!"
