Henry-isms

I have never laughed so hard at Walmart as I did the other morning when I went with Henry and Charlotte.

The lady at the customer service desk had really long fingernails that were painted in bright colors and animal prints. Henry saw them immediately and said, "She's got really long nails!" I replied, "Yes, they sure are pretty." Then Henry blurted out, "Those fingernails are whack-a-doo!" :-) I was trying really hard to contain my laughter because the lady did not seem amused at all. Oh Henry!

Then we get to the deli counter and the employee helping us said to Henry, "Hey! How are you doing Buddy?" Henry replied, "Good but my booty is itchy!" As I turned around in horror I saw that Henry had his hands down his pants scratching away!

Henry would never want things to get dull!

One afternoon we heard Henry playing in his room when he was supposed to be taking a nap. Trey went in to see what he was doing and immediately he noticed that Henry had his shoes on. Trey asked Henry why he had his shoes on and Henry replied without hesitation, "I had to go to the grocery store to get Bunny some food." :-)

On Father's Day morning Henry and Trey were hanging out in bed and I asked Henry to come help me make coffee for Daddy. Henry, kind of aggravated, turned to Trey and said, "Why can't you get your own coffee?!" Well excuse me!

We are in the process of potty training and everything is going well except for the fact that Henry is incredibly lazy about pulling his underwear and pants up. He would rather just take them off and run around the house naked. So when Henry does muster enough energy to do it himself, we give him a lot of praise and pats on the back. One morning we were in a rush to get to a dentist appointment so I pulled his pants up myself. Henry immediately cheered, gave me a great big hug, and said, "You did it Mom! You pulled up MY pants all by yourself! I am so proud of you!" Little squirt!

I love joking with Henry about his stinky, sweaty boy toes. I tell him that he has "toe cheese". Henry calls it "tee chose". Man, I love this kid. ;-)
