Asheville - Sightseeing

Trey's conference was held at the famous Grove Park Inn but we stayed at a hotel downtown.  So on Saturday the kids and I met him at The Grove Park Inn after his presentation to explore and have lunch.

A miniature replica of the hotel...

Isn't it beautiful?

We had a really nice lunch on the back porch of the hotel.  This picture does not do it justice but the mountain views were breathtaking.  Of course the nice restaurant and the beautiful scenery were lost on the hooligans.  Not five minutes after we were seated Henry says, "This place is boring!" :-)

Unfortunately there was no time for any spa treatments but we did walk through the world-famous spa.  I told Trey that maybe we would feel some relaxation from just walking through!  :-)

Charlotte and Henry sure look relaxed!  ;-)

After a swim in the pool we decided to do some sightseeing in downtown Asheville on Saturday evening.  It is a very artsy town with lots of sculptures and artwork around the city.

Charlotte keeping it classy with a piggy-back ride on a piglet sculpture....

We thought it would be fun to take the kids to the Mast General Store.  Henry walked in and said, "I want to go somewhere else.  I don't want to do any shopping." He then saw the barrels and barrels of candy and changed his mind quickly!  :-)

Dinner at Mellow Mushroom was the perfect ending to our fun day! (You can see Charlotte clutching her lollipop she picked out at the Mast General Store.  We had to pry it from her fingers to even pay for it!)
