Country Adventures

Right before Halloween, our Residents' Auxiliary planned a family event at a local farm called Country Adventures. The kids and I always have fun going out and doing something different but this was even more fun because Trey was off and could join us!

Henry and the donkey made friends right away! ;-)

It took a little while longer for Henry to warm up to the pony but he had a great time once the pony took him for a spin!

After hanging out with the animals we all enjoyed a really fun hayride!

Henry with his friends, Sydney and Reed...

Our first hayride stop was to pick out our own pumpkin!

Charlotte was a little confused as to what she was supposed to be doing. :-)

"You have me bundled up in this ridiculous hat and a coat that is WAY too big, you made me ride on the back of a tractor, and now you have me sitting in a tub of pumpkins. What did you expect?!"

The last stop was a cook-out with hot dogs, hot chocolate, and a marshmallow roast! YUM!

Trey teaching Henry the perfect way to roast a marshmallow...

Thanks Michele for a wonderful event! We really appreciate all of the time and effort you put into making this such a fun evening for all of us!

Pumpkin Carving

Henry and Trey had a great time carving our pumpkin! Henry's favorite part though was when afterwards he and Trey got into a "fight" with the guts of the pumpkin! That slimy stuff was flying everywhere and on everything! So funny!

Charlotte staying out of trouble and out of the mess in her Exersaucer...

Such a fun family morning!

Boo at the Zoo 2011

Trey was in San Francisco the week before Halloween so Henry, Charlotte, and I went to Boo at the Zoo with two of our great friends, Erika and her daughter Olivia! We had a blast!

Henry (aka "Storm Trooper) and Charlotte (aka "Strawberry") dressed and ready to go!

(Two things - Henry was not allowed to take his "basher" (gun) with him to his CHURCH preschool so he was extremely excited to be able to take it with him to the zoo. Also, it was in the 70's that evening so Charlotte's fleece costume was not on for long!)

Barney, Strawberry, and Storm Trooper...

Olivia and Henry's favorite part of the evening hands down was the Foam Zone! Neither of them would do it last year so it was great to watch them both having so much fun!

Look at Henry right up in the crowd of kids waiting for the foam!

I absolutely love this picture. Look at the joy on his face! :-)

Forget Storm Trooper! Here is Mr. Bubbles! ;-)

Two sopping wet kids hopped on sugar!

Preschool Costume Parade

Henry's preschool had a costume parade before their Halloween party. Charlotte and I were excited to go and see Henry and all of his friends dressed up!

Whoa! Look at that Storm Trooper!

"Silly Mom! It's just Henry pretending to be a Storm Trooper!" :-)

Storm Trooper and his best friend Spiderman...

Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the actual parade (Charlotte desperately wanted to get down on the floor and join the parade!) but I did get this picture of Henry and his friends watching the other kids in the parade...

Henry, you were such a handsome Storm Trooper! Charlotte and I had so much fun at your parade watching you and your classmates laugh and play! Love you Buddy!

Henry's First Field Trip

Henry recently took his first field trip! He and his other preschool classmates went to a pumpkin farm where they went on a hayride, then each got to pick out a pumpkin, and then had a Fall snack. Of course Henry's absolute favorite part of the field trip was riding the school bus! How fun!

A very excited Henry wearing a pumpkin shirt, of course...

Rub-a-dub-dub...

...two precious kids in the tub! :-)

South Carolina State Fair

Trey took Henry to the South Carolina State Fair but unfortunately Charlotte was still sick so she and I stayed at home. Trey was very sweet and sent pictures of Henry to me so at least I sort of felt like I was there! And it didn't hurt that they brought me some cotton candy too! Mmmmm!

No fair in South Carolina is complete without a Nascar race car! :-)

Is that a Gamecock?!

I am sure that Trey was super excited to have free reign at the fair games since I wasn't there nagging him to stop! ;-)

Henry took a turn with the BB gun and he did pretty well...

Trey took a turn with the BB gun game and he did really well....

Look at that monstrosity he won!

One happy little boy...

If you ever start feeling like you have the goofiest, craziest, most dysfunctional family in the world, all you have to do is go to a state fair. Because five minutes at the fair, you'll be going, 'you know, we're alright. We are dang near royalty.'
- Jeff Foxworthy

I bet there were lots of families feeling better about themselves after they saw Trey walking around the fair with that pink gorilla! Hahaha! :-)
