Henry...Our 2-Year Old

Here are Henry's 2-year old stats...

Weight - 30 lbs. - 74%

Height - 35 1/4 inches - 74%

Head Circumference - 48 cm - 33%

Henry is all-boy. He loves balls, trucks, and fire engines. It is not a good day in Henry's book unless he has dirtied at least two outfits. He loves eating cereal and watching SportsCenter with his Daddy in the morning. His knees are always skinned and his hair never stays brushed. He loves wrestling and playing rough. He wants to be outside at all times no matter if it is dark, extremely hot, cold, or rainy. When outside he can be found either playing in his sandbox or digging in our gardens. He thinks it is hilarious to "hold hands" with bugs...meaning he lets the bugs crawl on his hand.

If we let him, Henry would only drink milk all day every day. He will become obsessed with a certain fruit and cannot get enough of it for a couple of weeks and then he completely despises it, usually after I have just stocked up. He is not in love with vegetables although he will eat them in order to get a piece of bread.

Henry is absolutely and completely in love with the Imagination Movers on the Disney channel. His favorite books are "Digger Man", "Fire Engine Man", and "Tip, Tip, Dig, Dig". His blue bunny is still his very best friend and he has to know where it is at all times. When he wants you to come somewhere with him, he says "Come on!" Henry is now in a big boy bed and he could not be more happy. He is constantly saying "Show my bed!" and he will ask you until you give in and go see his bed.

Henry's favorite saying is "Okie Dokie Smokey!" When you are holding him, he will lovingly pat your back. He now says "please" and "thank you" pretty regularly. It melts my heart when he says "Love you!" We are working on "ma'am" and "sir" although he does not really get the whole gender thing.

Henry loves to play with the older kids in the neighborhood. He becomes very shy and uncomfortable in crowds. Henry is stubborn, likes to do what he wants, and says "NO!" no less than a thousand times a day. His new sassy saying is "Move Away!" when he wants you out of his personal space. He is full of expression and emotion. Even when he is in trouble he keeps us laughing because of the looks he gives us.

He challenges us more than we ever thought another human being could but we still look forward to waking up to his smiling face every morning. We look back on the past 2 years with nothing but pure awe on how far we have come. And we look forward to watching his future unfold.

Henry, we are truly honored and blessed to be your Mamma and Dadda. Saying that we love you just does not seem like enough but we love you and we always will!
