Our Very First Christmas At Home

It is hard to believe that this is the very first Christmas Trey and I have ever spent at our home by ourselves in almost 7 years of marriage. Of course, it was bittersweet. The reason we were at home was because Trey was working the week of Christmas. And of course we were missing being with our families. But we were really excited to have an incredibly relaxing day and enjoy every minute with Henry.

Trey was on call the day of Christmas but we were extremely lucky that he was taking call at the Veteran's Hospital which means he is allowed to take home call. Trey woke up a little after 3a to make it in to the hospital at 4a so that he could try and round on all of his patients and be home by 7a when Henry wakes up. Trey and I could not wait for Henry to wake up so that we could show him what Santa brought. Henry, completely oblivious to Santa, decided to sleep in until 9a! Something he has never done before! Sorry you woke up so early Trey! ;-)

Part of our gift to Henry was to reorganize our bonus room from a bonus/junk room to his play room. He was taking over our living room so it was time for him to have his own space.

Since this picture, he has been given a train table with a very extensive track system. :-)

What a fantastic playroom! He is a very lucky little boy to have such great parents.
